Bauxite junior third baseman Hunter Gautreaux was named Maxpreps/USA Baseball Midwest Player of the Week for the week of February 26-March 6. He finished the week batting .800 with 2 home runs and 2 walks for the Miners. The nation is separated into eight regions. Players are then selected by Maxpreps.com based on stats entered by the school's baseball coaches. A pitcher and a position players is selected from each region every week of the high school baseball season. The Bauxite junior currently is batting .429 with a .626 on base percentage including 4 RBIs, 3 home runs, and 7 walks through 6 games. The Miners are now 3-3 on the season after 2 big home wins this week over Lonoke 6-3 and Robinson 2-1. Gautreaux leads Bauxite back on the diamond against rival Glen Rose on Thursday. First pitch is set at 5:00 in Bauxite.
